Santa has been entertaining children and adults in the Burlington, Mercer and Monmouth County area since 1985.
Santa’s beard is real, folks.
Santa has five suits, including a vintage replica 1931 Hayden Sunbloom Coca-Cola Santa suit hand-sewn in Wilmington, N.C. by Santa’s sister, Debby Scheu, with help from Thursday and Friday — Thursday is in the photo and her brother Friday is also very busy because everybody wants everything done by Friday! See more of Thursday and Friday at work sewing Santa’s suit here.
Ms. Scheu has been making Santa’s suits since the early 1990’s and picks out only the very best fabrics. Each suit is made from 42 individual pieces custom fit so Santa can be most comfortable. The linings keep him cool when inside and warm when he’s outside. Santa’s shirts and vests are also made by Ms. Scheu. All the clothes have a special label, ‘Made for you with love, from your sister’.
Then there is Santa’s hat which is part of the suit but designed to hold extra gloves and has a special lining. Santa’s sister is just the very best sewing person is the world! When Santa visits her she is just…sew much fun!!
Santa’s boots are very very special. In the 1960’s, after a friend did not come back from Vietnam, Santa decided to wear Army Paratrooper Jump Boots, to remember his friend.
Santa’s boot buckles are hand-cast bronze made by Santa’s very dear friend Michelle Post! Using Santa’s photo, Ms. Post sculpted the buckles just for Santa’s boots.
Ms. Post also made Santa’s magic key with his image. The key lets Santa into all the houses that don’t have chimneys.
Santa’s Belt Buckle? Well, that is special. Ms. Post said she was making something just for Santa, the only one in the world. When Santa saw it, he was speechless. Santa’s buckle has a portrait of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Santa gets very emotional every single time he wears Ms. Post’s beautiful creation. It is the finishing touch to Santa’s suit. Ms. Post is very special and will be forever and ever.
Santa’s bells belonged to his great-great-great-great grandparents’ one-horse-opened-sleigh.
His 1875 eyeglasses are from Santa’s friend Marge Miccio. Ms. Micco sells lots of really cool stuff at Artifacts Gallery in Trenton NJ.
Gloves. Santa only use one kind of glove — United States Marine Corp Dress Whites — to honor all those that serve.
Santa is very honored to have so many helpers who help him to take care of so many others. Thank you!
Last but not least as it is 1 oz., Santa gives each child a Spangler or Bob’s candy cane. Moms get chocolate.
